Established in 1877, Kaga-tane Shokuhin Co., Ltd., a long-standing maker of monaka shells, proudly operates “MONACUP.”
From Kanazawa, the city of artisans, we deliver monaka shells throughout Japan. This historic city is renowned as a home of confectionery craftsmanship, where traditions handed down for generations are celebrated as a cultural treasure of Japan. Through our monaka shells, we take part in a wide variety of confectionery creations, while dedicating ourselves each day to honing our craft.
We work with over 3,000 companies, producing more than 100 million monaka shells annually.
Why do so many clients choose us? One reason is our careful selection of ingredients. After testing high-quality glutinous rice from across Japan, we chose to use “Shin-Taishō Mochi,” a renowned variety from Hokuriku. We honor traditional techniques while also pioneering modern innovations, such as 3D mold design, to continue evolving with the times.
